Blue Curry (b.1974, Nassau, Bahamas) is an artist working primarily in sculptural assemblage and installation art who uses an idiosyncratic language of commonplace objects and found materials to engage with themes of exoticism, tourism and material culture.

His work is in the permanent collections of the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO), Wolfson College, Cambridge and The National Art Gallery of The Bahamas (NAGB) as well as many private collections including Kay Saatchi. He is a graduate of the Goldsmiths College Fine Art MFA program.  He currently lives in London, United Kingdom, and works between there and the Caribbean. He is also the Director of Ruby Cruel, a creative space in Hackney, London.

TROPICAL.jpg installed among a plantation of young pine trees, the 20-metre-long image wall introduces visual motifs derived from generic images of Caribbean foliage culled from the internet, bringing the imagery of a tropical ecosystem into a Central European pine monoculture.

Working with sculpture and installation, Blue Curry explores questions of exoticism, tourism, material culture, and the circulation of images. Anchored in the specificity of the Caribbean while resonating within a global artistic discourse, this intervention brings distant forest ecologies into dialogue, opening a space to reflect on landscape, biodiversity, and the cultural imaginaries attached to nature.
